Here, the sturdy sole forms the foundation of our Original silhouette, crafted from Smooth leather and featuring our signature DNA: yellow welt stitching and an AirWair heel loop.

Famously tough and durable, you can choose whether or not to buff our Smooth leather for an extra shine. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and care for with Dr. Martens shoe polish.
Our Goodyear welt lines are heat sealed at 700°C and reinforced with our signature stitching.

Material
Smooth is our classic leather: with us from day one. Known for being particularly stiff in the first few days, it can take on a particularly patina-like appearance if buffed or left to show signs of aging.

Remove dirt using a damp cloth. Apply a neutral or matching wax-based shoe polish. Buff with a Dr. Martens shoe brush to restore the desired shine.
